Rock Painting and Hiding events

3rd February 2018 – Headley Down Nature Reserve

Headley Down Nature Reserve are embracing the rock painting and finding craze. It’s a great activity for all ages combining arts and crafts and woodland walks. Rocks (pebbles) are decorated with a wide array of designs and then hidden for others to find. We ask that you take a photo of the rocks you discover (you can share your pictures on our Facebook page) and then re-hide them rather than take them. 

You are welcome to paint rocks at home and hide them within the nature reserve (please make sure they are varnished to stop the paint from running in the rain) but we have organised a community event on Saturday 27th January at St Francis Church where you can come and paint. So have a think about what you’d like to put on your stone.  

The following week (Saturday 3rd February)  after all the stones have dried and been varnished we will be heading over to the nature reserve after Kraftikids to hide them. This will be a good time to visit if you haven’t been yet / are not sure where the nature reserve is.
