Help us find Monty
We have some sad news, Monty has sadly been stolen from the nature reserve.
This news has upset the whole community, but we have received absolutely wonderful support from everyone, and people of all ages have come together to try and get Monty back.
We believe this was an organised theft and not vandalism. An angle grinder was used to saw through the bolts and he was removed from the nature reserve.
We have reported the theft to the police and have had coverage on Shine Radio in Petersfield and BBC Radio Surrey, as well as on the BBC News website.
We hope that spreading the word will prevent him from being resold. We estimate he is worth £350 scrap and have contacted local scrap yards but have not had any luck.
