Badger – answers

1. The badger has a black and white face and grey fur on its body. Did you know that there is no other animal in the UK that looks like a badger.
2. A badger lives underground in tunnels called setts. Here’s an interesting fact: badgers make separate holes for their toilets.  How very clean of them!
3. Badgers will eat many things but love big fat juicy worms, and will happily dig up your lawn looking for them.
4. Badgers only come out at night.  Animals that do this are  ‘nocturnal’.
5. A male badger is called a boar and female badgers are called sows.

And one last fact: badgers belong to a group called mustelidae, which is the same family as weasels, stoats and ferrets.
